Decolonization: The progress of restoring ones culture that has vanished as a result of colonization.

Colonization:The progress of taking control of an area and its Indigenous people.

Activism: The action or intent to make change against a social or political issue.

​

Two spirits: Native Americans that identify as possessing both female and male genders within them.

​

Homophobia : Prejudice or injustices against people of the LGBTQ community.

​

Historical Trauma:The increase of emotional and psychological wounds over the life span of a person, and across generations, coming from massive group trauma.

​

Indigenous:Originating or being naturally there in a place; something that is native.

​

Survival School:Schools created specifically to help restore Native American culture.

​

Mindfulness: A type of meditation used by Native Americans to decolonize.

​

Boozhoo: This means hello in the Ojibwe language.
